The Contemporary Chorus has its roots in the early 1970s and has led the Sunday 7:00pm liturgy in worship since then using contemporary music drawn from present-day Catholic and Christian resources. In the spring of 2013 the present director, George Strnad, celebrated 25 years with the chorus. If you are interested in "praying in song", it is not required that you be able to read sheet music but as the group is smaller than a traditional choir it is necessary that members have some ability to sing a melody. All voices are welcome, as are any instrumentalists in the traditional categories of wind, string and percussion.
Practices are before Mass at 6:15pm and after Mass (no later than 9:00pm), keeping related activities and commitment time to Sunday nights.
For more information please speak with George Strnad either on a Sunday evening in the church or contact him at (414) 744-5542 or submit a request for more information via the form below.
